Throughout the festival, Westside Circus will provide high energy, adventurous and engaging workshops for students, teachers and families. Circus workshops build confidence and self esteem and encourage participants to develop problem solving skills, while their physical and emotional health are improved through increased activity and flexibility.
The student and teacher workshops will be conducted at the circus headquarters in Preston during the week, with the family sessions on the weekend at Birrarung Marr, near Federation Square.
Westside Circus is Melbourne’s leading not for profit for young people participating in circus, providing an inclusive and accessible art form available to those of all ages and skill level.
You can read an interview with circus CEO Simon Clarke where he talks about ‘social’ circus and what to expect at the workshops.
