Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is an inquiry-based teaching method, pioneered by educators at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Using artworks and visual material, VTS allows teachers to facilitate discussion, deep questioning and analysis.
In September 2016, a group of teachers from Victorian schools travelled to Boston to train in the VTS method. Now, during the Arts Learning Festival, Victorian students will have the opportunity to participate in a VTS session at the National Gallery of Victoria, and develop their critical and creative thinking capabilities.
The sessions will be part of our exciting Festival Art Day Out at the NGV.
