The festival takes to the skies with workshops on building kites, flying them and their cultural significance.
Kites 4 Kids will conduct student workshops on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 May, a teacher workshop on Thursday 4 May and family workshops on Saturday 6 May and Sunday 7 May.
The Arts Learning Festival will also open with a Community Kite Flying at Birrarung Marr near Federation Square, where kite makers will be able to express their hopes and dreams and fly their kites along the banks of the Yarra.
In ancient times, kites were used to transmit messages to the gods.
In the skies over Birrarung Marr, let your thoughts take flight.
