Target audience: Primary Students, Families
We all know Tim Ferguson as part of the legendary Doug Anthony All Stars and more lately, as a popular comedic performer in his own right.
Tim now brings his considerable talents to the Arts Learning Festival, with the exciting Billie and the Dinosaurs program, aimed at young learners and families
Billie and the Dinosaurs is a musical journey through a narrated orchestral performance where audiences of young learners can consider the unique palaeontology of the Australian continent while meeting the hero of the story, Billie.
Billie lives in regional Australia and when faced by bullies at school runs away and uncovers an ancient world where her new friends help her through her adventures to learn about friendship and resilience.
The workshop will provide insights into the creative development of the work looking at the ideas and musical styles that help tell the story of Billie. There will also be a performance by a student orchestra of a section of the musical score and other activities.
Tim has created Billie and the Dinosaurs along with Dave Willis and Geoff Willis.
There will be student workshops Wednesday 3 May to Friday 5 May, and a free family workshop on Saturday at The Cube at ACMI at Federation Square.
